How To Get The Girl | IGNORE and SCORE: Dating Mindsets Explained – How To Attract And Date Beautiful Women

Paying for dates has always been a hot topic for debate.  Should the guy always pick up the tab?  Should you ditch a girl who never pays for anything?  Is going dutch totally taboo?

A couple months back, I wrote about the 60/40– guys paying for the bigger things (dinners, tickets), and girls paying for the smaller things (coffee, cab rides).  Alex Furmansky, the founder of Sparkology.com, added even more wisdom into the post.  So check out the new and improved version:

I always get the question of who should pay for dinner on dates.  From what I’ve seen and heard, the 60/40 split is what usually works best.  This means that the guy covers the “bigger” purchases (dinners, show tickets) and the girl pays for the “smaller” purchases (cab rides, tip).

The 60/40 split addresses many of the problems found in the traditional 100/0 split or the modern 50/50 by offering the right balance of tradition and gender equality:

Problems with 100/0

Reduces value of the woman; supports outdated notion of subordination

I was having dinner with some guy friends and one of them was griping about how it’s sooo expensive to take girls out, and how it’s cheaper to pay for a hooker.   While doing some calculations in my head, I asked the guys to list everything they have to pay for on a date.  Then while at dinner with my girlfriends the next night, I had them list everything they financially invest in for a date.  Obviously not a large enough sample size, but I would still like to share my findings:

Men

  • Cab ride/gas to restaurant: $10 – $20
  • Dinner for 2 w/drinks: $80 – $150
  • Cab ride/gas to after bar: $10 – $20
  • After dinner drinks: $50 – $80
  • Cab ride/gas home: $10 – $20
  • Condoms: $6 – $12

Yes, this is New York City with high-maintenance women, but this scenario is also based on a really nice date.  We understand some of you think it’s unfair to pay for us on dates, but please take into consideration how much time, effort and money we spend to prep for the date so you’ll be proud to be seen in public with us.  Not to mention that most women these days will offer to pay for part of the date anyway.

What I’ve also noticed about girls is that the more you financially invest in us (nice dinners, gifts, etc), the more effort we’re willing to spend on our looks (learn how to spot gold diggers, though).  If you want pretty, classy company, invest in it.  You won’t be disappointed with the ROI.
