Eat with Strangers; Meet Chicks

I recently came across Grub With Us, a way for you to eat with strangers and try out new restaurants.  Basically, every night a restaurant is predetermined and a fixed price is calculated based on a group discount (including tax and tip).  Meals are served family style with a large group of strangers.  You prepay, so there’s no awkward moment at the end of the meal when the bill comes.  I really hate that part.

It’s available in major cities.  I checked out the website today and most of the reservations for NY are sold out.  That sounds pretty promising.  I’ve also looked at the RSVP list and the female-to-male ratio is pretty good (in favor of team sausage).  What better way to bond with a girl than over food, right?  And you don’t even have to pay for her!

I also think it would be a good 5th or 6th date idea.  It’s like taking her to a dinner party where you don’t know anybody, so you have a lot to discuss afterwards (“Did you see the guy with the toupee?” “That one chick was definitely coked out, right?”).  It’s also a good test of how she handles meeting new people.

If any of you have tried this, I’d be very interested to hear about your experience!
